Position Summary: The Project Controls Specialist will work within Kokosing's Central Engineering department, supporting field engineering and construction operations. This position, based in Westerville, OH, is essential for project initiation, budgeting, cost accounting, purchasing, training, and various critical tasks. The role demands high accuracy and efficiency across diverse project control functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage schedules and workloads to produce quality work on time. Calculate various statistical data, including quantity take-offs, material and subcontractor pricing, labor, and equipment costs. Coordinate with the estimating group, project management staff, and the Kokosing accounting group. Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures, primarily related to cost control and tracking. Continue ongoing efforts to standardize project accounting functions. Coordinate, price, and assist projects in settlement of change orders and claims. Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements. Develop expertise in the job cost module within Viewpoint, including data requirements and reporting capabilities. Assist in developing training for project engineering staff. Provide technical support for project engineering staff. Aid in the preparation of accurate and timely cost, income, and cash flow projections. Respond to issues quickly; proactive in problem-solving; handles multiple tasks. Manage time and organize the office and filing system efficiently. Assist with additional Central Engineering functions. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, or business management. Minimum of 2 years of project controls or project engineering experience. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Hands-on experience in managing costs, estimating expenses, controlling budgets, analyzing costs, and preparing financial reports. Preferred Qualifications: Previous construction experience preferred. Familiarity with various aspects of project controls such as planning, scheduling, estimating, etc. is a plus. Intermediate understanding of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes. Prior experience with PowerBI is advantageous.
