General Description
The Program Manager is a member of the Chapter Impact Team. The Program Manager will manage multiple programs for the local Chapter including, but not limited to projects currently within Blue Star Families portfolio, lead volunteer and membership engagement.,
*The Program Manager must reside in the local community in which the Chapter serves.
Key Job Functions:
Apply project management expertise to all aspects of the Blue Star Families’ local chapter operations.
Develop schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and budgets.
Set and monitor deadlines, ensure completion of deliverables, and alert team of pending due dates and delinquencies.
Schedules regular team meetings to drive projects forward and to provide status reports to program stakeholders.
Utilize and manage project management technologies and tools to administer projects actively and effectively (including, but not limited to, Salesforce, Google Workspace Suite, Zoom, etc).
Work collaboratively with other Blue Star Families departments to develop and implement solutions that support the needs of the Chapter Impact Team.
Engage volunteers and membership.
Perform a broad range of administrative activities including scheduling and meeting planning, document creation, communications, travel arrangements, minutes, presentations, and other logistical functions.
Promote an organizational culture that values strategy, planning, collaboration within mission and across Blue Star Families, trust, commitment to the mission, and professional and organizational growth.
Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs

Required Experience, Skills & Background
Independent self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of the military family experience
Volunteer recruitment and management experience
Experienced in public speaking
Excellent writing skills
Ability to facilitate meetings and drive towards decision-making
Project management experience
Proficient with technology
Travel requirements required outside of your home office will be up to 25% or less depending on our business needs.
May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to carry out key job functions
Volunteer management experience
Desired Experience, Skills & Background
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems; and familiarity with Salesforce a plus
Familiarity with membership-driven organizations
Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of processes and programs, and ability to implement improvements.
