Job Overview:

This role will sit on the SAP Concur ImplementationTeam that focuseson implementing Concur Expense and Invoices services.TheImplementation project manager is responsible for implementing Concur Expense & Invoice services. This includes fulfilling the roles of a consultant, project manager and functional expert in the implementation for solution design, hands-on service configuration, client project team training, and client testing/validation support.Depending on services contracted, the Implementation project manager will also have overall leadership responsibility when Travel IPM, Technical Consultants, or extended services resources join the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully manage multiple, simultaneous implementations by continually motivating clients, ensuring project timelines are met and client and/or partner issues are addressed while adhering to Concurs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Manage multiple concurrent complex, global, multi-phased implementations following Concurs implementation methodology

  • Quickly and effectively gather clients business requirements to design and configure Concur services

  • Manage client expectations, drive client deliverables, and exercise scope control to ensure project completes on schedule - including multiple time zones

  • Creatively design solutions for complex requirements

  • Develop and maintain strong functional and technical product knowledge

  • Effectively communicate and work with C-Level sponsors, internal and client project teams, international and multi-cultural clients

  • Effectively communicate complex ideas and persuade clients to adopt the recommended solution remotely

  • Conduct effective training and product demonstrations calls with clients remotely

  • Provide consultative expertise to the client, including guiding clients through key decisions and tradeoffs to maintain project scope and timeline

  • Provide contributions to Concurs project methodology and document library

  • Provide updates on client statuses and escalate issues while maintaining control of the project

  • Stay organized and deliver on commitments, including updating any project tracking systems and fulfilling administrative responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed deployment productivity and quality metrics

  • Quickly ramp-up on new releases and product functionality to ensure successful implementation of these features for clients.

  • Collaborate with other members of the implementation team to develop and deliver web-based training/presentations covering a range of service topics.

  • Contribute to special projects as needed to ensure successful service deployments, improved internal processes/methodologies and on-going retention/satisfaction of client base.

  • Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.

  • Deliver outstanding client service to achieve high implementation survey scores

  • Work effectively with peers, other departments, and management

Manage overall implementation -- activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Scheduling and conducting project calls

  • Configuration call: review timelines and key milestones, understanding and analyzing client business requirements, provide consultative advice on how to optimally set up the Expense and Invoice service via the Setup Wizard, provide access to the Deployment Toolkit, and facilitate processing of appropriate system setup forms and address client questions.

  • Workflow call: review submission, approval and accounting processes.

  • Administrative call: review Company Card Administrator and Concur Reporting tools, provide Reporting and Support registration assistance.

  • Miscellaneous project calls as required.

  • Manage third-party and Concur integrations (e.g. credit cards, financial posting, reimbursement to employees, payments to vendors).

  • Train clients and prepare for deployment of service to employees all within defined timeframe of completion.

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Training required:

  • Four-year degree with Accounting or Information Systems emphasis a plus

  • Minimum of ten years of experience implementing financial or hosted applications implementation experience with Concur Expense services highly preferred

  • Minimum of five years of project management, consulting and/or software implementation experience

  • Experience in client-facing/service roles

  • Experience with financial applications and knowledge of accounting processes

  • Full life-cycle financial system implementation experience

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver on commitments

  • Proven ability to foster internal/external relationships, overcome objections and motivate clients.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication and client management skills.

  • Proven ability to comfortably discuss accounting and financial concepts with varying levels of positions within the clients organization.

Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • English fluency required

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand technical concepts quickly

  • Finance/Accounting experience

  • Implementation methodology experience

  • Ability to persuade and influence

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills

  • Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Ability to address and manage through ambiguous situations - assess situations, problem solve and make decisions

  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines

  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently

  • Strong working knowledge of software and technology specifically around web technology, financial system integration and Excel a strong plus

  • Strong computer skills and general technical aptitude
