The HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER INPATIENT PHARMACY DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME LEAD PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – PYXIS TECHNICIAN (Rotating/Variable Shifts). Strong candidates will have experience with Pyxis automated distribution system and principles. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist the technical staff with maintenance of Pyxis devices as needed, including swapping out drawers and/or reconfigure devices as necessary. • Monitor daily open discrepancies in the Pyxis system and assist nursing and pharmacy staff with timely resolution. • Monitor daily open discrepancies in CII Safe and assist with timely resolution. • Monitor daily compare reports and reconcile all transactions. • Run reports to review and monitor system activities for quality assurance purposes. These include, but are not limited to, discrepancy resolutions, entered ADT information, profile overrides, activity reports, and inventory verification. • Assist technical staff with look-alike and sound-alike audits and assist with reassignment of medication location in Pyxis as needed. • Troubleshoot problems with Pyxis devices and repair as needed. • Coordinate and assist Pyxis field repair technician as needed. • Assist the Pyxis Pharmacist with: • Installation of new devices. • Assigning and modifying user access for Pyxis • Utilize BD pyxis tools including, but not limited to, HealthSight Inventory Optimization, Knowledge portal, Healthsight Viewer, and Pyxis Server to optimize Pyxis and CII Safe operations. • Coordinate and train new users to the Pyxis system and CII Safe as appropriate. • Quality assurance on Pyxis use and CII Safe in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. • Annual review and updating of policies and procedures relating to the Pyxis automated distribution system.

REQUIREMENTS: One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician II OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT: State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
