Amazon Manager, Vendor Management, Automotive in Seattle, Washington

The Manager, Vendor Management (MVM) will lead a team of Vendor Managers responsible for driving both the top and bottom-line metrics for multiple strategic categories. To deliver results, this person and their team will own strategic vendor relationships, expand product selection, negotiate vendor terms, partner with marketing and advertising to drive traffic, and work with operations and supply chain management to guarantee product availability. The MVM is expected to be a passionate customer advocate with a long-term cross-functional mindset, and strong business judgement and P&L management skills.

Key job responsibilities

o Owns the business P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the respective categories. Must be able to identify internal and external variables impacting the business and define action plans to deliver the desired results.

o A strong passion for hiring, developing, and leading a team Vendor Managers.

o Proven record of driving strategic vendor negotiations and delivering positive results. Comfortable representing Amazon in meetings with senior executive teams from top selling partners.

o Effective at setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.

o Skilled communicator when working with Amazon selling partners as well as with internal groups such as buying, site merchandising, marketing, PR, finance, operations, and retail systems to deliver innovation on behalf of customers.

o Strong cross-functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising and supply chain management.

o Identifying industry trends relevant to selection assortment and customer experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience

  • Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management

  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • 2+ years of team management experience

  • Experience of managing and developing a high performance team

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $208,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
