We are looking for you to join our team as a Technical Services Project Management Specialist based out of San Diego, CA .

The Technical Services Project Management Specialist leads and directs one or more project teams in the professional services arena. Prepares project execution plan and coordinates activities between client and company personnel. Monitors project completion from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections. Oversees performance of projects or engagements and typically utilizes management skills more than technical skills. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team(s).

What you'll get to do:

  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between program management, production, planning, procurement, supply chain, project team, and line management.

  • Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress, intervention and problem solving with Project Managers, Line Managers, Program Management and Clients.

This position may be filled at a level 2 (Technical Services Project Management Specialist) or a level 3 (Principal Technical Services Project Management Specialist) depending on experience.

Basic Qualifications for a Technical Services Project Management Specialist:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant professional experience in project management, supply chain, engineering or business (OR in lieu of a degree, 6+ years of related relevant professional/military experience that includes a background in project management, supply chain, engineering or business may be considered)

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications to include advanced skills using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Strong Excel skills to include utilization of Pivot Tables.

  • Must have MRP Knowledge

  • Must have the ability to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)

  • Able to obtain and maintain DOD clearance (be a US citizen)

  • Have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience in project management, supply chain, engineering or business (OR a master's degree and 3+ years of relevant professional experience in project management, supply chain, engineering or business OR in lieu of a degree, 6+ years of relevant professional/military experience that includes a background in project management, supply chain, engineering or business may be considered)

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications to include advanced skills using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Strong Excel skills to include utilization of Pivot Tables.

  • Must have MRP Knowledge

  • Must have the ability to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)

  • Able to obtain and maintain DOD clearance (be a US citizen)

Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • Current/Active Security Clearance

  • MS Access skills are a plus

  • Experience with Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionally

  • Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Gathering, manipulating, and processing raw data at scale. Interpreting data provided by SAP, PDM and MES Systems

  • Able to read engineering documentation, BOM Structures, and PLM tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills to senior leadership

  • Understanding of Operations processes including production, procurement, supplier management, material management and release, planning, quality processes, and work order management

  • Demonstrated Process Improvement skills/abilities

  • SharePoint experience

  • Familiarity with JIRA and Tableau

  • Familiarity with EVMS processes

Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800

Salary Range 2: $107,300 - $160,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
