Emerson Assistant Manager / Manager Outbound Logistics in PUNE, India

Job Summary

To drive initiatives that improves the performance of outbound Logistics, it is crucial to strategize and deliver on the promised turnaround time for all shipments. This involves meticulous attention to details on documentation and packing protocols. Coordination with the third-party Logistics is critical for negotiating with the Logistics Service Provider for Spot Rate Contract and with various transporters. In addition, maintain compliances, operational safety, and active participation in various audit processes.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Support the strategic planning of the organization by developing plans and work processes for the department.

  • Drive initiatives to bring continuous improvement in the outbound logistics.

  • Provide training, coaching, and develop the logistics. Supervise the development of employees in the department.

  • Responsible to plan and achieve committed turnaround time for all shipments.

  • Ensure compliance to follow documentation and packing guidelines.

  • Coordinate with Service provider for Logistics Service & Rate Contract.

  • Timely dispatch shipments to meet POR’s of various BU’s.

  • Direct involvement in drop shipments ensure our shipments packing and dispatches are on time as per our commitment.

  • Analyze outbound logistics bottlenecks/problems and implement counteractive measures. Resolve any arising problems or complaints.

Who You Are:

You should have a domestic perspective and have the ability of building effective teams. You adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse partners. You need to keep the end in sight, put extra efforts to meet on time deliveries. You also need to analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately before moving to solutions and observe situational and group dynamics and select best-fit approach in a collaborative manner.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 10 to 12 years' Proven experience in outbound logistics, transport Management and Documentation.

  • Expertise in driving initiatives to bring improvement in the outbound department.

  • Experience in outbound logistics management. Timely dispatch shipments to meet POR’s of Various BU’s

  • Well conversant with drop shipment Terms Procedures & Handling

  • Should be able to guide in handling various materials and packing activities.

  • Well-versed with transporter, external customer for Handling, shipping Docs., E-way bill as per GST compliance.

  • Good Exposure of optimization of logistics cost in various projects and monitoring service levels all the LSP’s

  • Closely coordinating with Material handling agencies for smooth functioning of outbound dispatches.

  • Well versed with Labour management for smooth operation of outbound logistics function.

  • Well conversant with MS office, word & PowerPoint and effectively communicate with Local & cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Degree’s in supply chain management

  • Additional qualification Multimodal logistics management will be an added advantage.
