Robert Half is excited to announce a GoLang Developer with one of our biggest clients in the telecommunications industry!

Join our dynamic Platform Engineering and Platform Reliability team within the client's organization. We are dedicated to developing cutting-edge tools and platforms that support developers working on xFi, Xfinity Home Security, and Connected Living Automation applications and services. Our team balances responsibilities between creating innovative tools and platform services and providing 24/7 support for these services. Our projects range from building an experimentation platform for feature flagging, to developing a multi-platform API Gateway Service Mesh, and managing an observability platform, among others.

Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer DevOps, you will contribute to a team working with advanced technology stacks, impacting and delighting millions of customers. You will be responsible for both the development and operational aspects of the platforms and tools we create.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with technical teams to identify and adopt critical technical capabilities.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to integrate and spread technical innovations.

  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation and designs.

  • Create educational templates for key technical concepts.

  • Review code to ensure high standards.

  • Support product development teams in technology adoption.

  • Develop proof-of-concept systems and conduct technical experiments.

    Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Go, Python).

  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, HashiCorp stack, Python).

  • Familiarity with monitoring systems (e.g., Grafana/InfluxDB, Nagios, Datadog, CloudWatch, New Relic).

  • Experience in building tools for automation, testing, releasing, monitoring, and alarming.

  • Knowledge of IaaS and PaaS providers (e.g., AWS, OpenStack, VMWare).

  • Proficient in Linux command line and system administration.

  • Understanding of container technologies (e.g., Docker, Fargate, ECS, Kubernetes) and hands-on experience with one of these platforms.

  • Networking knowledge (e.g., OSI network layers, TCP/IP, firewalls, traffic shaping, load balancing).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Concourse).

  • Experience with deploying and operating infrastructure for microservices-based platforms.

Requirements:

  • Broad technical proficiency with a strong desire to learn and a 'can do' attitude.

  • Ability to manage rapidly shifting priorities and dependencies.

  • Hands-on technical experience in Linux environments.

  • Quick learner of new technologies.

  • Experience with Agile Scrum project methodology and practices.

  • Ability to translate high-level design decisions into practical solutions that address customer issues.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technology concepts to both business and technical audiences.

  • Proven ability to understand business requirements and propose reference architectures and technology solutions.
