GBS

This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This position is the Compliance Leader responsible for the evaluation, analysis, and ongoing monitoring of all new and updates compliance and regulatory changes in support of business operations, product solutions marketing activities, group product compliance, form filing and required state certification of compliance.

This role collaborates with Corporate Regulatory, Legal, and other Group Benefit Solutions business areas ensuring operational state and federal compliance.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible and accountable for delivery state compliance positions of all business operations and related functions for the GBS functional business areas.

  • Owns the evaluation and analysis of new and existing compliance and regulatory changes; communicates implications of regulatory mandates and changes in state laws impacting Group Benefit Solutions products and advise on applicability and impact to internal business area operations.

  • Bring a solutions-based approach when working with business partners, understanding needs required to deliver unique solutions to challenging business problems.

  • Provides documented guidance and leads compliance communications related state filing, form management impacting business operations.

  • Consult with GBS Legal team on state regulatory compliance issues impacting GBS business operations.

  • Responsible for the research and documented analysis of state and federal laws which impact Group Life, Health and Supplemental products.

  • Monitor and state compliance trends impacting Group Insurance products and provide analysis.

  • Work with Legal partners on updated state regulatory positions on legislative changes impacting Group Life, Health and Supplemental products.

  • Report and track state regulatory compliance positions related to state filing requirements related to Advertising, Form Delivery, and Rate filings.

  • Respond to compliance related inquiries, market conduct exam requests and state reporting requirements.

  • Develop external contacts and participate in professional organizations that will provide benchmarks for law internally and enhance the understanding of the external environment to anticipate trends and developments in the field.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree or higher (legal degree a plus)

  • Ten plus years of relevant Compliance or business experience in state filing and product form compliance for Group Life and Health products.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team. Must have a strategic mindset, and an ability to credibly contribute to the direction of the business and product management.

  • Proven track record of reaching sound judgments and act quickly under tight deadlines to bring matters to closure Communication, analytical and project management skills.

  • Strong relationship management and leadership skills are required including experience and ability in dealing with senior management.

  • Experience partnering with other business leads and subject matter experts to drive results required.

  • Experience managing and developing business models, workflows, and business readiness plans to ensure compliance.
