We are looking for an Education Specialist to join our Head Start team at Coastal Community Action! CCA is a private nonprofit corporation providing a variety of services to a target population of low-income children and families in ten counties in eastern NC, with a mission of empowering them to become self-sufficient.

The Education Specialist is the content expert for education services and is responsible for providing ongoing monitoring and support for the Head Start (HS) and Early Head Start (EHS) Center and Home Based environments, classroom activities, and outdoor activities to ensure exceptional services and that requirements under HS Performance Standards, Agency and Program Policies and Procedures and, the N.C. Child Care licensing rules are being met.

What You'll Do:

• Develop and implement parent and staff trainings including areas of curriculum, classroom management, appropriate practices, program standards, and early childhood learning and development.
• Participate in education team meetings, workshops, and seminars to keep current with national and state issues
• Gather and record data on a regular basis and prepare necessary reports (Center Inventory, Transitions, Ongoing Assessments, Training attendance).
• Ensure that the classroom and outdoor environment are set up according to the program and agencies requirements, Creative Curriculum, HS Performance Standards, ITERS, ECERS, and N.C. Licensing requirements.

What You'll Have:

• A bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Two or more years of experience teaching preschool aged children
• Valid background clearance
