We are seeking a talented individual for a Sr. Director of Account Management who is responsible for the successful delivery and development of HMS Federal services to multiple clients within a specific Federal Agency. Has overall responsibility for managing portfolio of contracts for a Federal Agency. Responsible for relationship management with key stakeholders, revenue generation, and overall client satisfaction. Responsible for agency level strategy, organizational planning, and risk management.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the management and delivery of Federal services to a specific Agency.

  • Effectively plans, develops, and leads full P&L for Federal services for a specific Agency.

  • Effectively leads personnel to ensure high performance, efficiency, and quality.

  • Develops strong relationships at all levels, but especially with key HMS and client executives.

  • Builds a strong organizational plan that mitigates risks and facilitates future growth.

  • Consistently makes decisions in a timely manner to move business forward.

  • Develops strong relationships with Federal Agency stakeholders, including associations, advisory groups and business development influences.

  • Attracts, retains, and develops team leaders including succession planning.

  • Proactively develops and executes strategies to mitigate risk and facilitate opportunities.

  • Maintains understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment at the national levels.

  • Considered to be a subject matter expert and is sought out by stakeholders for consultation on healthcare policy, products, and contracting.

  • Proactively collaborates with Account Delivery Solutions and Product owners to drive results.

  • Works with other HMS business divisions to coordinate sales and execution strategies for protection and promotion of company goals.

  • Sells products and services to existing clients.

  • Identifies and develops strategic partnerships that enhance HMS’ ability to enter new Federal Agency client divisions and contracts.

  • Develops proposal strategies, proactively shapes proposals, and leads teams through the proposal process.

  • Represents and promotes HMS by participating in conferences and stakeholder events.

  • Serves on corporate teams to facilitate product development, quality, and training.

  • Considered a role model for customer management and service delivery.

  • Advances corporate thought leadership agenda.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge typically acquired during the course of attaining a Bachelor’s degree is required. A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of a degree. Master’s degree (MBA or healthcare related) preferred.

Minimum Related Work Experience:

  • 8 years of account management and business development experience required with experience in one of the following areas desired:

  • Federal Health Programs

  • Health insurance

  • Client service/business to business

  • Healthcare policy

  • Industry with high level of compliance (e.g. Finance)

  • 5 years’ experience directly leading and managing teams desired

  • 5 years’ experience leading and growing a P&L of over $30M desired
