Actalent Lab Manager in Mansfield, Connecticut

Lab Manager- Windham County, Connecticut

Description:

SOP Development

Technical writing – experience, and ability to write documents reviewed by a regulatory agency

Manage a team of 3 supervisors, 5 Group Leads, 45-50 technicians

Manage all aspects of laboratory reagent production/products and packing & shipping,

Work with customers on special requests and product information

Create budgets and operating plans for the laboratory

Schedule product production based on inventory and need

Coordinate cell orders for tissue culture antigen with applicable department

Train laboratory staff to foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment

Collaborate with procurement and logistics to manage inventory and supply chain processes

Document for testing and/or release of USDA-licensed plate antigens

Develop and maintain departmental systems and SOPs

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

3-5 years experience in laboratory production.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in biological science. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above

Proven experience as a manager, with a focus on process optimization

Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and practices

Experience in personnel development and performance management

Occasional travel between laboratory locations using own vehicle or to meet with customers
