POSITION PURPOSE

Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents major system modifications, interfaces, or system integration solutions. Troubleshoots and provides problem resolution support to complex production/program errors or interface issues. Installs custom-built released application software upgrades. Works with business owner to understand business requirements.

Serves as a mentor providing technical application expertise for the development, enhancement, customization, and maintenance of internal custom-built software applications. Skills will include development of user interfaces, database queries, extracts and understanding programming functional business logic.

Will also be responsible for following business and technical requirements gathered from the business partners for coding, testing and promotion of code using Julia programing technology stack JavaScript proficient with React.js(such as Flux or Redux and agile development methodology. Familiarity with code versioning tools such as GIT, Bitbucket.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides technical expertise to team members, business analysts, management and clients. Serves as a mentor to less experienced team members.

  • May assist team lead with new candidate interviews, associate performance reviews, project scope analysis and implementation.

  • Designs, codes, debugs, tests and implements major programming modifications, changes and new development to custom-built applications, interfaces, integration or middleware software, legacy or integration systems. Conducts impact analysis of modifications and changes to existing systems and corresponding interfaces. Conducts moderate to complex analysis, programming and design tasks

  • Develops and maintains programs, job control language or interface solutions in accordance with predefined standards, functional and technical specifications or utilizing specialized software.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex system or interface failures and issues. Applies fixes or work-a-rounds to vendor software or interfaces as needed. Interfaces with vendors as necessary. Provides support and maintenance as needed.

  • Analyzes, installs and tests new releases to application software. Applies regulatory releases and federally mandated changes to applications software. Retrofits releases to existing modified and/or customized applications, interfaces or integration. Documents new processes and develops functional and technical specifications; provides product demonstration and training.

  • Participates in system conversions and provides technical production support (i.e., create new programs, implement conversion rules, conduct data extracts, support batch cycles, generate ad-hoc reports, etc.), or interface retrofits as identified by statements of work (i.e., development and maintenance of real time and batch interfaces, processing downloads and other operational processes.)

  • Interfaces with other TIS support or end users in determining business needs, translating functional requirements to technical solutions; gathering and exchanging information, program or interface testing, scheduling delivery dates, establishing necessary processes and coordinating problem resolution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or certification in healthcare or information technology and a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of application development using Java Script, Julia SQL, Store Procedures, Shell scripts, technology experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced to expert technical proficiency, client server, two or more programming languages, related applications, tools and utilities.

  • Considerable knowledge utilizing vendor healthcare applications, products and tools preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong knowledge of the application and the business line being supported.

  • Ability to serve in a routine mentoring role and provide technical guidance to staff.

  • Ability to provide staff support for business and technical projects, assignments and analysis.

  • Ability to manage projects.

  • Ability to work independently on a day-to-day basis.

  • Strong customer service skills. Ability to interface with internal business analysts, information technology analyst, hospital client users and external vendors.

  • Excellent organization, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must possess a willingness to learn and develop skills.

  • Must possess the ability to work in teams and with direct supervision.

  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position operates in a typical office environment. The area is well lit, temperature-controlled and free from hazards. Incumbent communicates frequently, in person and over the telephone, with people in a number of different locations on technical issues. Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communications. The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same period and adapt to interruptions.

  • The incumbent must be capable of traveling in the course of completing project assignments. (may or may not apply)

  • The incumbent may provide 24X7 on-call support for software application, which includes applying fixes and quick resolution to production or interface problems, errors and issues; disk space problems on server; program code, etc. Responds to high-risk situations, unknown failures and critical restorations. Documents “fix-it” procedural guides for technical support team members.
