Job Overview:
Organize and administers individualized age specific professional patient care to female patients in an outpatient setting of the hospital in support of medical care. Provides nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the objective, policies and procedures of the hospital and the State Nurse Practice Act. Maintains the standards of nursing care as established. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate from an accredited school or university
Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
Preferred:
- Preferred Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or currently matriculating
Certifications and Licenses Required:
Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
Full-Time
Day shift
7.5 hr shifts
Mon. - Fri.
8am - 4pm
37.5 hrs weekly
No weekends
No holidays
Essential Functions:
Assists in chart reviews. Prepares charts for office hours. Assists with performance improvement programs in Health Center to promote quality patient care, and patient satisfaction in accordance with the Medical Center s overall performance improvement program. Collaborates with the physicians to provide care to the female patient. Functions as a contributing member of the health care team. Interviews, assesses, and teaches patients accurately and documents appropriately. Maintains complete and confidential records. Reviews and evaluates procedures and paperwork in the Health Center for corporate compliance. Monitors and maintains chart reviews for quality assurance and performance improvement. Monitors, reviews, and documents patient charges after each patient visit. Document any billing issues that need to be addressed. Maintain compliance with the client s HMO guidelines. Participates in the development, review and revision of Health Center policies and procedures as needed in compliance with the regulations of the New Jersey Department of Health and the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals. Performs and assists with gynecological and prenatal evaluation and procedures. Provides or assists with in-service and orientation of new and existing staff, including physicians and students as necessary. Supports patient satisfaction initiatives. Participates in hospital committees or Health promotion activities, maintaining interdepartmental relations, and quality improvement.
