KRBD Administrative Assistant in Ketchikan, Alaska

KRBD seeking an Administrative Assistant to join the staff as a full or part time employee. If you are interested in building skills in public media and enjoy working with community members and volunteers this is an ideal job for you. This person is the primary source for office administrative tasks, supporting volunteers and assisting in media operations. Position responsibilities include:

  • Be the face of KRBD for incoming callers and visitors.
  • Process mail and provide business function support.
  • Work with underwriting sales staff to track contracts and prepare reporting.
  • Help with on-air drives and fundraising events.
  • Sell merchandise and coordinate raffle ticket procedures.
  • Support the volunteer effort with recruitment, and problem solving.
  • Help with routine social media posts, community calendar and public service announcements.

We are looking for someone to bring:

  • Enthusiasm for the mission of public media
  • Basic computer and office skills
  • An interest in learning the operations of a radio station
  • Problem solving skills
  • Efficiency with independent work under minimal guidance
  • Commitment to overall team effectiveness

KRBD is locally owned and operated with support from CoastAlaska, Inc., a regional non-profit public broadcasting partnership. The station enjoys strong community support and has many volunteers providing content and assisting in fundraising activities. KRBD also serves our listening area as a primary source of local news and public safety messaging. Deadline: Open until filled and screening applications immediately. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply right away. Salary: Range B, $35,753 to $41,000 annually, depending on experience, with a competitive benefit plan.
