Our Fortune 500 client is seeking all levels of support engineers to join their team for Azure Core Support. The levels range from 1 through 5 at $35-$50/hour! As a Support Engineer, you will be providing support for the Azure Services or Azure platform to Enterprise customers. The ideal candidate must have experience with Container Technology and Fluency in Kubernetes, Virtual/Hybrid/Layer 7 Networking troubleshooting/configuration and administration of Linux.

Azure Core Support Engineer

Support Engineer roles 1 thru 5

Pay range $35-$50

Hybrid - Irving, TX and Remote

Typical Day in the Role:

• Purpose of the Team – Provide support for the Azure Services or Azure platform to Enterprise Level customers.

• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm – Work assigned tickets from the queue, collaborate with colleagues via various methods such as Teams meetings or group chats to triage on difficult cases.

Candidate Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in a technical support role (preferably Azure VM, Azure AKS, Networking, or Windows).

• Solid understanding of container technology and fluency in Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding of container specific networking such as CNI.

• Knowledge of Operating Systems and Virtualization and Virtualization concepts and system administration.

• Understanding of load balancing and familiarity with relevant components such NGINX, Application Gateways, and NVA’s.

• Familiarity with networking troubleshooting (ping, tracert, tracemon, tcpdump, etc.)

• Familiarity with Linux OSS.

• Familiarity with DHCP, VIPs, NAT, DNS

• Familiarity with core OS services such as: SSH, telnet, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, Samba, LDAP

• Familiarity with one, or more, shell environments (BASH, sh, tcsh, ksh, etc.)

• Experience with Linux script-based development environments and tools (PERL, Python, Ruby, PhP, Jenkins, etc.)

• Experience with developing tools or scripts to automate troubleshooting activities.

• Experience administering Linux (boot process, file systems, network device and protocol configuration)

• The ability to analyze and interpret captured network data using tools such as Wireshark or Fiddler when troubleshooting.

• Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to sometimes nontechnical customers and business executives.

• Strong organization, time management, communication, and documentation skills.

Top Hard Skills Required, candidate must have at least 4+ years of experience in 6 of the listed requirements below:

• Solid understanding of container technology and fluency in Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding of container specific networking such as CNI.

• Knowledge of Operating Systems and Virtualization and Virtualization concepts and system administration.

• Understanding of load balancing and familiarity with relevant components such NGINX, Application Gateways, and NVA’s.

• Experience administering Linux (boot process, file systems, network device and protocol configuration)

• Familiarity with one, or more, shell environments (BASH, sh, tcsh, ksh, etc.)

• Experience with Linux script-based development environments and tools (PERL, Python, Ruby, PhP, Jenkins, etc.)

• Virtual/Hybrid/Layer 7 Networking troubleshooting and configuration experience.

• The ability to analyze and interpret captured network data using tools such as Wireshark or Fiddler.

• Strong background in both Linux and Windows based operating systems and applications.

• Strong troubleshooting and customer facing IT support experience.

• Experience working in an Enterprise level environment where you have worked with and directly supported executive members of an organization.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

• Previous MSFT work experience

• Experience working with and supporting customers in another language(s)
