Description

This position is responsible to plan and prepare athletic fields, stadium fields and stadium facilities for amateur and professional players and coaches to use for their workouts, games or tournaments.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Daily turf management tasks and infield clay preparations for all amateur and professional sports events.

  • This position must be attentive to the needs of amateur athletes, professional major league and minor league players, coaches and team officials.

  • Incumbent works closely with temporary staff and contract laborers to ensure all assigned tasks are completed.

Education, Experience, Licensing

  • Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and one year athletic field maintenance, groundskeeping, general maintenance or closely related experience.

  • CPR and First Aid training is required within 6 months of hire.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.

Supplemental Information

  • Knowledge of turf maintenance and care.

  • Knowledge of the operation of field equipment used in the maintenance and construction of athletic fields.

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects.

  • Ability to layout athletic fields.

  • This is primarily a 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. shift; however, the workdays and hours for this position will vary to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
