Job Description
An excellent job opportunity exists for a Structural Engineer to join our expanding Structural Engineering team in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin . The team provides civil & structural design services to a variety of clients within Building Engineering. The Dun Laoghaire Structural Engineering team work on several notable large projects, offering an opportunity for a wide range of experience. Current project include a Municipal Library, Governmental large scale Residential projects, Rail Station Renovations, Tech Sector projects, Restoration and Energy Retrofit of Protected Structures, School Bundle Projects and Healthcare.
The successful candidate will join a team of extensive experience from our Director to our most recently chartered Engineers.
We provide structured training and excellent support, access to our international knowledge sharing network and procedures to support your continuing professional development and career progression within AECOM.
We regularly work within a multi-disciplinary team and encourage the use of the latest industry technologies, with internal Technical Quality processes to deliver high quality designs for our clients.
Your role responsibilities:
Delivering structural engineering services on building projects, performing analyses and calculations as appropriate and preparing designs
Preparing technical specifications
Supervising work by Graduate Engineers, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard
Directing Technicians to ensure that drawing work is completed, clearly communicating designed solutions
Report writing and production of technical reports and documents
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BSc/MSc in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent with post graduate design experience with an Engineering consultancy.
Building structure design experience using all the main materials on a variety of structural projects
Highly motivated Engineer with previous consultancy experience
Experience in Eurocodes essential
Knowledgeable in finite element and frame analysis software for steel and RC frames, flat slabs, etc. (Tekla, SCIA, etc)
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Near Chartered/ Chartered Status
BIM Level 2 project coordination and delivery expertise advantageous
