Health Management Systems, Inc. Vendor Manager in Danvers, Massachusetts

This Vendor Manager position is responsible for managing our relationships with HMS’ operational vendors. This position will ensure that we have all necessary operating agreements and monitor performance over time. He/she will help with the selection, maintenance and termination of vendor relationships.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor vendor traffic and performance on a day to day basis

  • Specify, communicate, and manage changes in systems, processes, and reports from beginning to end

  • Lead efforts to select new vendors

  • Communicate internally as the status of the relationship from the corporate, financial, and operational perspectives.

  • Troubleshoot operational problems, serving as liaison between managers and the vendors.

Other Functions:

  • Performs other functions as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Sound knowledge of HMS/ Essette /Eliza technologies

  • Strong project management and organization skills.

  • Strong resolution and trouble shooting skills

  • Ability to work on financial and operational analysis and reports.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access

  • Ability to use interpersonal skills with customer-service orientation.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Ability to perform well in team environment, with staff at all levels, to achieve business goals.

  • Ability to work independently to meet objectives

  • Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy and Security rules

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data

  • Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)

  • Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals

  • May be required to work extended hours for special business needs

  • May be required to travel at least 10% of time based on business needs

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum Related Work Experience

  • 5 years of relevant experience

  • Health care technology or industry experience preferred
